Milltown Day Workshop, based in Arbuthnott, provides meaningful therapeutic work opportunities to individuals who have a wide range of additional support needs. We are currently recruiting for an individual to work 2 days per week Monday & Tuesday, 9am to 4pm.
You will be required to train, support & co-work with small groups of adults with a wide range of additional support needs. This post involves land management on our 7 acre site & assisting with maintenance & harvesting of wood in a local woodland. We require an individual with a minimum of 1 years experience in land management. This does not have to be experience gained in an employed position but can be within a non-paid setting. It is essential that you have a patient, friendly & approachable manner, can work flexibly on a range of tasks, can adapt tasks to enable people with varying support needs to take an active role in the tasks. You will be required to promote consistent boundaries to the individuals you support, be able to work in a team setting, be sensitive to the needs of others & have a "can do" attitude to work. Experience of using petrol lawnmowers & strimmers is essential. Experience in the use of chainsaws is not essential but would be preferred. This is a physically demanding post so the ability to take part in physically demanding work outside in all weathers will be essential to undertake this post to the required standards.
Starting pay £9.15 per hour.
This post involves working with vulnerable adults. Therefore the successful applicant will be required to undergo a PVG check.
