Milltown Day Workshop was set up in 1996 to provide practical work activities for local people with a range of disabilities.Currently there are seven people with a learning disability whose home is at Milltown, and a further twenty two local work in the Day Workshop every week. Some have a learning disability; some have had accidents or a stroke, and some have mental health issues. The Day Workshop provides opportunities for our workers to be involved in a wide range of work and skills; crafts, woodwork, gardening, animal husbandry, and refurbishing tools within a social group, giving individuals a big choice and inclusion. Second hand tools are refurbished and sent to Africa to be used by local craftsmen, many of whom have a disability. The Day Workshop is very much a part of the local community who visit in groups or individually to purchase hand-made items for sale in our shop
